Tantus Sam Review
By Carnal Queen.
Let’s say hello to the Tantus Sam … I think you all know by now, I love dildos, and I love the dildo extraordinaire company that is Tantus. If you’re looking for a dong that’s body-safe and high quality, I’m always going to point you in their direction, because they’re sure to make something that will tickle your fancy. Big ones, small ones, textured ones and smooth ones … and in just about every colour you can think of. You can certainly taste the rainbow when you play the Tantus way.
I have quite a collection of their wonderful dildos now; amongst my favourites are the Cush, the Vamp and the Adam. It struck me a little while ago, that although most of my hoard have phallic aspects about them, I didn’t have a piece that was truly based on the male form. I’ve shied away from realistic skin tones before too, not because I have anything against them, but because I’m drawn to the unusual colours and the fantasy mixes like a moth to a flame. I’d rather fuck the weird and the wonderful … no offence CK!
Time to put that right though, because the moment I first saw Sam, he went on to my ‘must do’ list. And if I’m honest, I’m not really sure what it was that first caught my attention. No denying though, he’s a sight for sore eyes. Generously proportioned, highly detailed, and made from Tantus’ awesome O2 dual density matte silicone – he’s a pedigree, through and through.
Diameter: 1.9 inches
Circumference: 6.2 inches
Insertable Length: 7.3 inches
He comes bearing gifts too. Along with Sam you get a battery powered bullet vibe and a suction cup, which means not only do you have a straight up dildo, but you can make him buzz and ride him hands free until the cows come home. It’s a 3 for 1 kinda deal, and it’s always great to have options. I reviewed the suction cup on its own last year, you can read my review of it here.
The bullet isn’t really my cup of tea. As a stand-alone bullet for clit stim, it’s too buzzy for my tastes. I find it makes me feel itchy, as it only stimulates the surface area instead of penetrating through the body. It’ll live in the kitchen drawer, next to a handful of its mates. Dildos with bullet holes get Tangoed in this house, but to be honest, I prefer Sam with no buzz at all. If I did, whacking the Doxy against the base works extremely well, because that’s powerful enough to penetrate through all of that delicious silicone. It does limit your thrusting options though, so I’ll take him just as he is.
The suction cup is a great invention. All of my Tantus toys with bullet holes are transformed with the addition of this cup, so I’m glad to have another in my sexy stash. Sam is a chunky monkey though, so I found the suction cup to only really be of use for straight up and down bouncing. On the floor, the side of the bath, or on top of a table it’s great, but attaching it to the bathroom tiles and trying to fuck it horizontally just frustrated me. The weight of the dildo means that as I pull myself off it, and try to feel every bit of that lovely head, it’s desperately trying to pop free of my body. Keeping the penetration deep overcomes this, but I like to feel every inch of the detailed shaft and head as it pushes in and out of me.
The O2 dual density silicone is a thing from heaven; it really makes a big difference to the whole experience. If this was made from all firm silicone, it would be too much for a lot of people, but the firmer core and squishier outer silicone layer makes it a far more realistic ride. Sam doesn’t feel like a real cock, don’t get me wrong, but he feels more cock-like because of that dual density, and it makes him more achievable to many.
I wanted to fall in love with Sam, but as much as I do like him, he just fails to hit the spot perfectly for me. I think it’s because of the realistic veining detailing along the shaft. For me it kind of detracts away from the head, and I struggle to feel much definition as it eases in and out of my vagina. I think I’d have preferred a slightly more defined head because of this. I like to feel everything and the texture seems to merge into one, all along the toy. I miss that delicious popping I get when the Cush pushes in, past the larger head and on to a smooth shaft.
I do still get pleasure from Sam though. If I’m indulging in some clit play, and want to feel filled and have something to grip on to, Sam fits the bill beautifully. I love how the shaft gives as I clench my muscles around it. He also feels pretty darned fabulous for straight up thrusting, although he doesn’t do anything for my G-Spot, the dimensions and angles just don’t add up for me. Sometimes I do just enjoy thrusting like a mad woman though, and that penetration alone can send me into the pleasure zone. Adding in clit-stim results in some pretty fantabulous orgasms.
Sam is harness compatible, and benefits from all the usual Tantus attributes; He’s boilable, bleachable, dishwasher safe, hypoallergenic, hygienic and utterly body-safe. He’s a breeze to look after, won’t steal your food or put football on the telly – for many, Sam will be pretty near perfect 🙂
Tantus kindly sent me Sam for free, in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. This in no way alters my thoughts or opinions. If you’d like to purchase your own sexy Sam, you can do so here.
