Motörhead Ace of Spades Vibrator Review
By Carnal Queen.
I can’t deny it, nor would I want to, I am a bit of a rock chick at heart, and I always have been! So, I guess it was kind of inevitable that the new Motörhead range of sex toys were going to catch my eye and appeal to my inner metal head! But would they live up to all the hype? Were they going to wow me with their power? … Time to find out.
I’ll be honest, I think the packaging of the toy is a bit poop. There’s no way you can get into it without completely destroying it! Now, I reckon some people will want to keep it intact, as band memorabilia, and if that’s the case, they’re going to have to either buy a second toy so they can leave one unopened, or they’re just gonna have to look at it and not play with it! Not ideal.
The Ace of Spade vibrator is absolutely glorious to look at. It’s just over 7 inches long and is made from ABS plastic in a lovely matte black, with the band’s famous Warpig/Snaggletooth logo emblazoned in muted silver across the side of it. It’s got a four inch circumference, so this is kind of like a lady-finger style vibrator, so I’d think it will be suitable for most people.
The vibe runs on three AAA batteries, and I wondered just how much power that would deliver. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one to be left disappointed in the past by battery powered vibrators, being left hanging, aroused and orgasm-less is no fun! That’s the reason why I tend to lean mostly towards rechargeable toys these days. I really was hoping that the Motörhead Ace of Spades vibe would pull it out of the bag and surprise me, and if I’m honest with you, I suppose it really did!
It’s a single push button operation, which is conveniently placed on the battery cap. I actually do like this, as lot’s of toys that are this style often have a twist on/off power cap, which can be really frustrating in use. Not to mention causing issues when a vibrator, claiming to be waterproof needs washing – you can’t be washing a toy that’s still buzzing away, but unscrewing to turn them off, often compromises their waterproof claims! Thankfully there are no issues like that here, the Ace of Spades is totally waterproof, and the end cap can stay fully tightened and in place, because it has that little button!
The batteries are very easy to install, and they’re marked clearly, so you know which way to put them in. The small pieces of cardboard inside the battery compartment should be left in place, as these do help with reducing the noise levels when the toy is turned on. The vibe has 3 constant speeds of increasing intensity, and 4 pattern settings, which you cycle through with the push button. Turning the toy off takes a press and hold of the button, just for a couple of seconds, and then the toy will remember which setting you turned off on, and automatically turn back on there next time. This is handy if you always like to use the same setting on your vibe.
The first constant speed setting is surprisingly powerful for a first speed on a toy, and is by far the most rumbly first setting I have on a toy of this style. I really don’t like buzzy vibrations very much at all, so I was pleased to see that this vibe offered me some lovely deep rumbles! The second setting is pretty awesome, and is generally the setting that I use the most, which is strange for me, because I’m a self-confessed power queen, and I usually go straight to the top intensity level. The third setting is indeed more powerful, but it does seem to lose a little bit of it’s depth, and veers towards more rumbly/buzzy vibrations … it’s still bloody powerful though! I also like the patterns on this toy, there’s 3 different pulses type settings and there’s an increasing intensity pattern. There’s probably something to cater for all tastes. I do find that my hands vibrate quite a bit holding this toy though, which is a little annoying for me sometimes.
I love it though, I really do. It delivers for me on pleasure, as well as pleasing me with it’s rock looks. I do generally prefer to use it for clit stimulation, but it is also good for internal pleasure, if that’s what you prefer. I did wonder if it would eat it’s way through batteries, being so powerful, but so far I’m finding it to be fairly good on battery consumption! Obviously, different brands and qualities of battery will have an impact on the battery life. It’s a little bit on the loud side during use, but that’s to be expected I guess, considering the power it kicks out! Cleaning it is a complete breeze, because it’s fully waterproof, and this means you can have fun in the bath or shower with it too. At £29.99 I think it’s fairly good value for money, if you’re wanting a really powerful finger style vibrator, especially if you’re into heavy metal or rock, or indeed a Motörhead fan! Then it’s a must buy!
